WHY I'M RUNNING FOR STATE HOUSE...
My name is Badr Sharif. I'm running for State House of Representatives. I want to represent not only people of the 116 District but Portland. I don't believe in "You, Him, Her, Them" but WE. I feel like people in Augusta don't understand what's going on and it's time for someone step up and do something. Truth is, I didn't chose to run, I was forced to by my devotion to my family, community and the country
I have grown to love. Everyday I wake up and the window of opportunity for my friends, my baby niece, and all the children for the next generation closes day by day.
I can not stand by and let this happen. While more jobs are sent overseas, while more children go uneducated, crime rates go up, while the cost of living rises so that more elderly can no longer afford to live in Maine. We have serious problems that needs action and I believe it's time.
